Equipment

  • large pot
  • strainer
  • blender
  • spoon or spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 box prepared mac and cheese (dairy-free or regular)
  • 1/4 cup beet juice (or natural pink food coloring)
  • optional toppings: steamed vegetables or protein

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Blend the prepared cheese sauce with beet juice or natural pink coloring, starting with a small amount and adding more until the desired pink shade is reached.
  • Transfer the pink sauce to a pot over low heat and stir until warmed through.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and stir gently until evenly coated.
  • Serve hot and add optional toppings such as vegetables, chicken, or bacon if desired.

Notes

Add beet juice gradually to control color intensity and avoid thinning the sauce. Reheat gently with a splash of milk or plant-based milk to maintain creaminess. Works with dairy-free or traditional mac and cheese bases.
