  • 1 cup warm water

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or blend)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, and salt until combined.
  • Add warm water and olive oil, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  • Transfer dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
  • Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick.
  • Evenly spread garlic, fresh herbs, and shredded cheese over the surface.
  • Roll the dough tightly from the long edge, sealing the seam well.
  • Place into a greased loaf pan, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Fresh herbs provide the best aroma and taste.
  • Cheese quantity can be adjusted to preference.
  • Always cool slightly before slicing for clean swirls.
