Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup finely crushed graham cracker crumbs
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cup freshly squeezed key lime juice
  • 1 tbsp key lime zest
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Combine graham cracker crumbs with melted butter until evenly moistened, then press firmly into the bottom of a trifle bowl or serving dish.
  • In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then set aside.
  • Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar, key lime juice, zest, and vanilla until creamy.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the lime mixture in batches, keeping the texture light and airy.
  • Spread half of the filling over the crust, add optional crumbs, then repeat layers, finishing with filling on top.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the layers to set and flavors to develop.

Notes

Best served well chilled. Adjust lime zest to taste for extra tang. Use full-fat cream cheese for the smoothest texture and clean layers.
