Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • toothpicks optional for securing bacon
  • small saucepan
  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 12 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 12 small fresh mozzarella balls
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Tightly wrap one slice of bacon around each mozzarella ball and secure with toothpicks if needed.
  • Roll each bacon-wrapped mozzarella ball in panko breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, turning once, until the bacon is golden and crispy.
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in maple syrup and garlic powder, then simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Serve warm and drizzle generously with the sweet maple glaze.

Notes

Pat mozzarella balls dry before wrapping to prevent sogginess. Place poppers seam-side down for even browning. Toothpicks help secure the bacon while baking. Serve immediately for best texture and drizzle glaze just before serving.
