Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water (110°F / 43°C)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

For the Topping

  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Flaky sea salt, to taste

Instructions

Activate the Yeast

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy, signaling that the yeast is active and ready.

Mix the Dough

  • Add gluten-free flour, olive oil, garlic powder, and salt into the yeast mixture.
  • Stir until a sticky dough forms. Gluten-free dough may feel slightly different than traditional dough—that’s normal.

Knead Gently

  • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently for 2 minutes until smooth and cohesive. No need for vigorous kneading!

Shape the Knots

  • Divide the dough into 10 equal portions. Roll each piece into a 6-inch rope and tie it into a knot. Arrange the knots on a greased baking sheet.

Let the Dough Rise

  • Cover the knots with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise in a warm spot for 20 minutes. Watch as they puff slightly, ready to bake.

Bake to Golden Perfection

  • Brush each knot with melted butter and sprinkle with parsley and flaky sea salt.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Optional: drizzle extra butter before serving for an indulgent touch.

Notes

  • Gentle kneading preserves the soft texture.
  • Warm water is key for activating yeast effectively.
  • Experiment with herbs and toppings for unique flavors.
